Weapos;ve had such a busy morning After Patrick ate breakfast (I wasnapos;t hungry) we started cleaning. After the house was cleaned we went outside and swept every ones yards clean of all the leaves. Then we jumped around in the leaves and put them all in trash bags.
Then we came in for lunch and showers. And after the shower Patrick went right down for a nap
Such a successful morning, Iapos;m so jazzed. This afternoon were going to go play with some friends and then tonight Iapos;m meeting a potential client - cross your fingers for me oh oh oh, and its Moms night out tonight, so hopefully if I get done with my client in time I can go.
In yesterdays news, I watched the debates last night. I really donapos;t like either possible presidential candidate. They both are the same really. Minus a few key things like health care, tax, and drilling for oil. I think they both bring good things to the table, but just arenapos;t as well rounded as Iapos;d like.
Obama -
I canapos;t stand that hes going to raise taxes. I donapos;t think people can afford it right now. I also think that taxing people who make 250K or more is ridiculous. They worked hard for their money. I donapos;t think its right to tax them, but not others. "Sharing the wealth" should be optional. If those individuals that make 250K+ want to donate their money, fine, but the government shouldnapos;t be allowed to take it. I think a better solution would be to give more incentives to US companies. That way they would keep and continue to bring jobs here. Taxing companies MORE than they already are being taxed will only drive them away.
Universal health care would be nice, but its not going to happen. As a country we simply cannot afford it right now. Maybe when our debts are cleared, but that wont happen for MANY years. I think it gives people a false sense of security to even bring it up right now.
McCain-
First off, his whining over Obama not defending him last night was ridiculous. STFU. You canapos;t 7 anymore. People will always say bad things about you, its part of life
I hate his idea of taxing health care. As if its not expensive enough for individuals and employers. I donapos;t see how it will help us.
I donapos;t like giving oil companies tax breaks. They are doing just fine, so leave them alone.
I donapos;t like his views on education. I donapos;t think parents should be able to pick what school their child attends. Why not FORCE all schools to be EXCELLENT no matter what side of town they are in. If we let children and parents pick their schools weapos;ll have overcrowding problems and will be right back to square one.
I like that McCain wants to drill off our shores. However, the effects will never be seen in either presidents time in office because it will take 8+ years to see results. However, I think its silly to think that drilling offshore will end our dependence of foreign oil. We are an over-consuming population. Just look at the financial crisis were in now.
Which brings me to another topic. Our economy. I think its pathetic weapos;re bailing people out who CLEARLY made stupid decisions. It wasnapos;t only the banks who were at fault, it was also the people who got bad loans KNOWING they couldnapos;t afford it. As the old saying goes "if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is." Obviously you canapos;t afford a million dollar home on a 150K salary. No you shouldnapos;t have 15 credit cards. No you shouldnapos;t be living off credit. You should actually HAVE a down payment when buying a house. Iapos;m sorry the bank lied to you and told you you could afford your home. Iapos;m sorry you were an idiot and only had a 5 year arm, but did you really think youapos;d have your home paid off in 5 years??? Did you really believe that youapos;d be able to get a BETTER interest rate in 5 years (when interest rates normally go up?)? I think the bail out plan sucked. I personally think the government should have just given everyone a stimulus check of like 35K and let US do with the money as we needed. Maybe that would have bought these people some time on their late mortgages. Maybe they could have got some of their credit card debt under control. Maybe start offering some free credit counseling. Help the small people out, not the CEOs who are giving themselves fat pensions as their companies go under.
/rant.
Now that this post got out of hand and got me all worked up Iapos;ll go.
